ABOUT ME (Professional Edition)I am Valentina, also known online as TheNonMexican, and I use she/they pronouns. Currently, I am a full-time student at the University of Western Ontario. Since September 2022, I have been actively engaged in the professional esports arena as a tournament/event moderator and admin, channeling my passion for the dynamic world of gaming.In 2022, I joined Western Esports as an executive member, marking the beginning of my journey to contribute meaningfully to the flourishing esports community. Taking initiative, I spearheaded the creation of Western University's inaugural female & non-binary esports team, "Western Wings," in 2023. As the manager of the collegiate Valorant team under Western Esports, I have played a pivotal role in nurturing talent and fostering a competitive spirit.My commitment to the industry was further recognized when I was elected Vice-President of Esports for the Western Esports & Gaming Association in 2023. In this role, I introduced individual coaches for each collegiate team and implemented strategic promotional strategies, such as consistent match day updates and win/loss highlights on our X profile. These efforts resulted in a remarkable tripled increase in engagement statistics within a span of just 3 months.Driven by a passion to champion diversity and inclusion, my professional aspirations revolve around creating pathways for women and marginalized identities to thrive in gaming. I am dedicated to delivering immersive gaming experiences that resonate with players worldwide, reminding them of what made them love gaming in the first place.
MORE ABOUT ME (personal edition)I discovered my passion for virtual worlds through Minecraft, but it was Valorant that ignited my love for esports and competitive gaming. I have worked a variety of titles but the one that has truly caught my eyes is Riot's Valorant and I hope to work more in the Valorant space as I progress through my esports career <3Looking ahead, I aspire to merge my passions for photography, live broadcasting, and gaming into a cohesive career. My dream is to create immersive experiences that blend these elements seamlessly, enriching the esports and entertainment landscape.
